Some of the MN Boys and a few MI Boys met up in Brimley to play for the COVID Cup.

It was of course weird not seeing everyone up there, but still had fun nonetheless. We arrived on Thursday and played a warm up round at Wild Bluff. The course was in great shape – a few changes this year…

1. No beverage cart on the course – had to plan for each 9 and buy at the turn shack.

2. The upstairs restaurant / bar was closed. We could hang up there, but could not buy drinks.

3. Pins stayed in with foam in the cups – like many other courses during COVID.

We followed the same traditions as years past – Stableford point system, Blue vs Gray (Gray had a ghost due to 1 less person), closest to the pins. this year we added skins on Sunday which was a fun addition.

The hotel buffet was closed, but we still had the Back Bay for breakfast, wings, and pizza. They were VERY safe – Entrance temp scans that also detected whether or not you were wearing a mask. They spent a lot of money on plexiglass around the slot machines and poker tables. No craps or roulette this year.

All in all, it was a great trip, but certainly sad not seeing everyone up there as many of us look forward to this as early as September! Hopefully we’ll be able to get everyone back out there in 2021.
